Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting tasks of a private equity, real-estate development company. You will form part of a highly-skilled national team operating out of Ottawa. On a daily basis you will be asked to use your skills and knowledge to keep track of over 20 different corporate accounts with various internal linkages. This role is best suited for an ambitious, detail oriented, multi-tasking accounting professional in the early stages of their career. You will be pushed to grow and develop, being handed more responsibility and mentorship at each step. You will be mentored by the Director of Finance, who is highly invested in your success at the developer. It is envisioned that this role will form part of a succession plan as the developer continues to grow and expand, nationally and in the US.

Is this opportunity right for you?
You hold a university degree in business, finance or accounting, and are in possession of your CPA designation, or are currently working towards your designation. You have 2-3 years’ experience performing accounts payable and receivable processes and bank requisitions. You also have proficient working knowledge of Sage 50 accounting software.
In your career to date, you have experience producing month-end reports as well as handling the pressure of year-end closeouts. One of your strengths is your proficiency to correctly code complex transactions. Ideally, you have experience in the construction or real-estate development industry.

You are fully immersed and understand the developer's business framework and are on top of the various books. You have started to interrogate the month-end reports and begun contributing commentary on those reports. You have formed a tight bond with the finance team, whilst being able to retain your own independence.
