à Come design and innovate with us on the open-source Eclipse OMR and Eclipse OpenJ9 code base at and

The Runtime Technologies team (that develops the Eclipse OpenJ9 product) is enthusiastic, curious and interested in different languages like Java, JavaScript and Swift. We work on a variety of architectures (x86, POWER, z/Architecture, ARM) and operating systems (Linux, Windows, OS X, AIX, z/OS). The OpenJ9 code base is the foundation of many products and being increasingly adopted by many other application and hardware vendors. The Garbage Collection (GC) team develops a critical and sophisticated component of the OpenJ9 solution, the Garbage Collector. The GC team delivers software solutions to better optimize memory usage while balancing other software performance requirements in our traditional runtime installations and additionally in containerized cloud environments. The team is continually looking for ways to innovate and improve how resources are managed while fine-tuning the implementation of various GC policies for bigger performance optimizations for a broad customer base.

While the team environment is highly collaborative, individuals are also expected to operate with a level of autonomy and responsibility that leads to quality software practices and delivering business results. Will you join us and help shape the future for runtime technologies?
